Jimsy, news out on your pick PLM-v:

Pallaum informed of successful fracing

Tue 9 Oct 2001

News Release

Mr. Stanley Ford reports

Pallaum Minerals has been informed by Mesa Resources Inc. that the Mesa
Wood No. 3-A and the Mesa Wood No. 4-B wells were successfully fraced over
the long weekend.
Both wells are offloading the frac fluids and will be connected to the
metre complex when the appropriate amount of frac fluid has been recovered.
The wells will be connected to the on-site compressor unit which is
estimated to have sufficient capacity to inject the combined gas flows from
Mesa Wood No. 1, No. 2-A, No. A3 and No. B-4 wells into Michell Services'
gas gathering system.
Pallaum Minerals is in negotiations with International Oil and Gas (NQB:
IOAG) to carry out a further well development program. Stan Ford, president
of Pallaum Minerals, said: "We've now fraced our fourth Barnett shale well
and are focused on developing this property into a major producing gas
field. Michell Energy's success in the Barnett shale formation has been as
high as 99 per cent. They have completed over 800 successful wells in the
Barnett shale and we hope to match that success rate by using the proven
and pioneering techniques that they have developed."
The U.S. Geological Service (USES) is calling the Barnett shale "the
hottest gas play in the United States," and estimates that there are 10
trillion cubic feet of recoverable reserves. To date, Pallaum has drilled
and traced four successful Barnett shale wells. Based on 40-acre spacing
there exists the potential to develop a 100-well gas field on the
5,600-acre property.
