There is a new covenant -- that allows you and me to choose Heaven over Hell. But, IMO, the original covenant is still in force with the generic, "people" of Israel -- the land, if you will. Who is God going to "protect" at the battle of Armegeddon? This is a much discussed topic PROLIFE. It is debated quite often. God said that when the "fullness of the gentiles was complete", the Jewish people would be reaffirmed(paraphrased). The 144,000 are to be chosen from the 12 tribes. Remember, he let us have the new covenant to make the Jewish people jealous. They will have to accept the new covenant, but they (IMHO) are "his people". I'm not arguing with you as you are one of my favorite posters on SI. I'm simply discussing the Bible with you. So please don't take it personally. Have a good week. alan w
