Dear JDN, cool, but it's not self evident to me. Of course I've heard the phrase before, I thought, though, you might have some details. JudeoChristian Doctrine is pervasive, but I'm not sure how it applies to some of the most highly regarded values, ie freedom of speech, the right to assemble, freedom of worship regardless of faith and democracy. I've done a bit of bible study, but I'm hard pressed finding any scripture that holds those values to be true and self-evident as the constitution says they are.

Funny thing is that the I believe the Official Motto of the University of California is "Let there be Light". It is on the Seal of the University of California. This means that "Let there be Light" is probably on every diploma given by the University of California (UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCI, UCSB....)
