That is in fact depressing.

I posted yesterday that we have an incredible inventiveness and drive when pushed.

And yet as I was driving around yesterday, I began noticing how "little" for example automobiles have changed. We have an energy policy driven by dependency on foreign oil that has been an increasing threat to national security.

We had 8 years of 'cheap' oil under the previous administration and increasing consumption (which also increased the tax coffers) and no real leadership as to how we would deal with shortages or spikes in price caused by the manipulations of a cartel.

What will be the next "new" new thing to drive this economy?

I think we need look no further than our garages to find the answer. If only we are willing.
