Intersting series of posts you linked.

The Creel family was hugely rich in Porfiriate days. Made a bloody fortune in mining. Seems that one of the scions is Mexico's Interior Secretary. There is/was a silk stocking law firm in Mexico City tied to the remnants of the family. He probably practiced there.

For any of you who are interested, the Interior Secretary before the PAN presidential victory was a very powerful position. Difficult to describe what it does as it has its fingers in just about anything significant. Definitely not in charge of national parks and such as in the US.

With Fox at the helm, Bush can count on Mexico at the Security Council. Can you imagine what Echeverria or some of the old lefties would do with such a seat during times like these?
