Wanna: The only chicanery is on the part of you. Show me your proof of this, and don't give me any crap about it being common knowledge.

While I am not entirely sure what Bill believes, it is common knowledge (hah) that Intel will pay a large portion of the advertising costs, provided that they are featured exclusively in it (there are also more specific criteria that must be met, such as size and placement of the Intel logo). This has been standard procedure at Intel for years now (part of the Intel Inside campaign) and there is nothing illegal about it.

wanna, I had that practiced on me when I appiled for the Intel co-op ad money for my retail ads. I was told they would pay a % of the page area that was advertising Intel products but not if there were any other makers CPU products on the same page. This was a few years ago in the 386/486 era but I have no doubt it persists.
