Re: PS : Are we allowed OT again ?

You want to talk about AMD's $200M loss? Barring additional correction or hope for a war rally, I wouldn't plan on holding AMD until the Oct 17 conference call clarifies guidance for q4.

Maui, Re: "The question is not whether Hitler or Saddam or OBL manipulate their people. The question I ask myself is why would good-hearted, intelligent Germans or a reasonably large population in the mideast get 'fooled' by these manipulator ? Is it because they are stupid, or it is because they have been pushed to such a hopeless situation for so long they they are even willing to listen to Hitlers and OBLs ? Whey isn't every single individual in this world coming out and denouncing such cowardly act of sept 11 ? Is it because they are just jealous of our prosperity ? Is it because they are all evil fanatics ? What OBL says in his tape has a clue to that."

Well, one thing Erik said that was correct was that the poor and squalid conditions that these people have lived in for so long make them prime targets for suggesting reasoning.

In Germany after the first world war, the German people were quickly driven to poverty. And, as Erik pointed out, their own biases towards the richer Jewish citizens became fodder for Hitler's evil reasoning.

But things are slightly different with bin Laden. Yes, the people are poor, and yes they are striving for redemption, but Islamic teachings are peaceful. They command tolerance and forgiveness. In order to get into the minds of these people, bin Laden has to pervert the teachings of Islam, thus the parallel spoken about several weeks ago comparing him with the anti-Christ.

Occult followings have has similar success convincing reasonably educated people into forsaking their family and former lives to give their body and souls to greedy leaders. By corrupting many people's innate desire to believe in a religious figure, both the occult and bin Laden have convinced normally kind and peace loving people to completely turn around their system of values.

bin Laden has so far been successful in getting these people to believe in him, but very soon, he will be showed as the fraud that he is. Once the U.S. breaks the backbone of his organization, but eliminating resources and financing, by embarrassing his organization, and by publicizing the truth, people will soon see him for the monster he is. Evil such as his do not go unpunished. By acting diplomatically, and humanitarianly, and sticking to a rigid set of moral beliefs, the United States will prevail. bin Laden has no where else to hide.
