Halaal Vegetarian ?

Well, Moslems don't eat just any meat. They need the sheep <or whatever animal> to be slaughetered in a particular way, with knives on which is incribed "Allah is great". The meat is called Halal Meat. It is against their faith to eat meat available in any other form.

Most Westerners do not now about this 'quirk'. but they do know that whatever is exported to Mid East needs to be labelled "Halaal". And when I lived in Dubai,I often saw imported cans of veggies - french beans, peas, carrots - with the label said "Halaal" !

The idea of Halaal carrots seemed extremely funny and always made me laugh ! It also cast doubts on the contents of the 'other' cans which contained meat of any kind.
