The PLO is now killing its own people to stop their rallying crowds of exuberance and undying support for their folk hero, Osama:

Did Arafat sow the seeds of his own civil war?

PA police kill three pro-bin Laden protesters in Gaza march

By Ha'aretz Service and Reuters

Three Palestinians were killed by Palestinian Authority police during a rally in support of Osama bin Laden Monday, the first time Palestinians have been killed by their own security forces since the start of the anti-Israel revolt. One of those killed was a 12-year-old boy. A third person who was criticlly injured subsequently died of his wounds.

Witnesses said police opened fire on the demonstrators while dispersing stone-throwers at a rally organised by the militant Islamic group Hamas in Palestinian-ruled Gaza City.

Eight other Palestinians were injured by live bullets, and at least 100 were treated in hospitals for inhaling tear gas. 25 Palestinian police officers were injured by thrown stones.

The Palestinian Authority had banned the demonstration, in
which police said at least 10 policemen were wounded, one of them by gunfire by masked men inside Gaza's Hamas-run Islamic University.

The Gaza police had issued closing warrents for two Gaza universities, including the Islamic University (considered a Hamas stronghold) and el-Azhar University, which is supported by the PA and Fatah.

An eyewitness told Ha'aretz that at around 10:30 A.M. a pro-Afghanistan rally left the Islamic University. Police forces were waiting for the demonstrators, and prevented them from accessing the main Palestinian legislative building in Gaza. In response, the demonstrators began to throw stones at the policemen, who in return beat them and threw stones back.

The protestors retreated towards the university, however, due to the amount of people there, it was impossible to distinguish between them and regular students. At this point, the police opened fire, and as a result three people were killed. One of those killed was Yusuf Akel, 21, a resident of the Nusirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.

The rally was held a day after U.S.-led air strikes on
Afghanistan, where bin Laden, the prime suspect in the September 11 attacks in the United States, is believed to be hiding.

Also in Gaza, an Israeli truck driver was moderately injured Monday when Palestinians fired on his vehicle at the Gush Katif junction in the Gaza Strip. He was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva for treatment.

A leader of Hamas, which violently opposes peace with Israel and has expressed solidarity with bin Laden, said on Sunday night that the U.S.-led campaign against Afghanistan was "pure terrorism against an innocent people."

The Palestinian Authority, which condemned the September 11 attacks on the United States, was trying to prevent a repeat of anti-U.S. celebrations that broke out after the suicide hijackings. Palestinian authorities said those rallies misrepresented the true feelings of the Palestinian people.
