Ira, I am one of those who objected to the Gulf War.I didn't want to see young American lives spent so I could save .50 at the gas pump. Nor did I like the role America now has for itself, "the worlds' policeman". Why did America have to run to Bosnia which is at Europes' doorstep?Isn't Europe a huge economy with over 300 million people who have a very capable military. Didn't we do enough for Europe for the past 50 years? Can't these people wipe their own a--? Now that we are in a real war, we will see how many are really willing to shed their blood on our behalf. My complaint is there are many wealthy and capable countries that should at least share the burden of keeping the peace.Their posture is very clear. Let America shed blood and treasure while they gain the benefits.Go ahead name those that are willing to send men to fight with us. Only the Brits and the English speaking nations pick up the banner and come with us.Where are the rich counties like Japan that we rebuilt after WWII? Amazingly silent. This time this is very much an American war, and those who bloodied our nose are going to see a fight they won't believe. With the exception of some nominal support, we're on our own. Sorry, but I don't believe America should be the only power to police the world, that's what got us into Vietnam.
