The followers of OBL would tell you that their actions on the 9/11 attacks were an act of war. To me, there is a difference in the morals and values of them attacking the WTC and the USS Cole (and I am not talking about the number of casualties). I am not a pacifist by any stretch and I understand that there will be collateral damage. But I also believe that if we sink to the mentality of indiscriminate killing that is being employed by OBL and the Taliban, that they will have won the war by killing the values that make the U.S. the great country that it is. I am all for doing what is necessary to neutralize the threat to our way of life (and that is what I see it as), but I am not willing to become the the thing that I hate to do it.
