Selectric II,

<<I would rather see him dead. But not in such a way as to be a martyr for generations of future terrorists to emulate.>>

Me too. Perhaps that would happen if, running out of living henchmen, he had to do the dirty deed himself. I find it curious that he'll send suicide bombers with fantasies of sugar plum virgins dancing in their heads to their doom, but will not undertake himself placing a hollow point through his ear.

<<Second, on the international scene, do you really want the whole world to wind up comparing his ferocity and tenacity to WWII Japan, requiring a nuclear strike to take him out (aside from moral issues, remaining 55 years after Nagasaki)? >>

Posting information about nuke bunker busters does not in any way indicate my advocacy of their use. I happen to agree with your viewpoint. Once it's determined which hole he's run to ground in and all his sentries have been dispatched to their eternal fates we can "smoke him out" at our leisure.

But then, as he's indicated, that's not likely. He's determined not to be taken alive.
