Certainly a serious issue and it will probably be credited with precipitating the decline but looks to me that it was in the cards with or without anthrax. The world around us is changing and we need to adapt. New priorities surface as we revisit old values...I don't think this is what Pogo meant when he said "We have met the enemy and it is us." Can't let this fear grip us very long, however, we have an economy out there to feed.
