THis is necessary. It isn't clear to me how much control Arafat has over the fringe groups. His problem is that the more he is willing to negotiate the more control he will lose over the terrorists. I don't think he could take Palestinian troops into Syria to take out terrorist camps, even if he wanted to. So, we're going to have to do the job for him.

Wrong. Arafat is now arresting and killing Palistinians who attack Israel.

He's serious but may be in a losing position.
