I don't mean to jump into this one Dan but it appears this author (Baker) certainly believes Christians and Muslims share a lot in common. But the article fails to mention the most important difference. We fail miserably in our relationship with God without the Blood of Christ. None of us are worthy to stand before Him without being washed in the Blood. Islam denies the most important fact.

I can't speak for Soros, but my heart tells me to shy away from some type of combined world church where we are all expected to condone each other. Remember, the end of days will be filled with many deceptions. We will be reviled by the world for our beliefs. We will be the ones who won't play the world game.

Don't get me wrong, I believe Muslims are entitled to their beliefs. Anyway, I've overposted.

Have a good one Dan.

I'm reading into his thoughts on this -- which is not that hard to do given some of the statements by the reviewer and the writer. Here are a few:

"Sympathy for Jews arises mainly from the Nazi Holocaust . . ." SOROS NOTE: Can you not feel the sarcasm here?

"Support for Israel—and therefore for Jews generally—comes substantially from Christian fundamentalists . . ." SOROS NOTE: When "Christian fundamentalist" is a dirty word with someone, my antennae go up. Sure there are some fringe people -- usually nuts -- but when someone condemns the word fundamentalist categorically, it usually means they do not believe the Bible is without error, that Mary was a virgin, that Jesus died and rose again, etc.

"Their passionate belief in this doctrine leads them to dismiss Arab/Muslim claims to their ancestral property in Palestine . . ." SOROS NOTE: ??? What can I say?

"Few Christians are aware that Prophet Muhammad, the messenger of Islam, believed Jesus and Moses were the most important bearers of God’s revelation to mankind . . ." -- SOROS NOTE: One SMALL difference which is VERY conspicuous in its absence -- Jesus was GOD! When teachers, pastors, writers, etc. fail to mention this because it may offend someone, they are tossing out EVERYTHING, IMO. They have compromised their faith, and therefore, I would question their beliefs.

"Both the Torah and the New Testament are viewed by Islam as inspired revelation of God to mankind." SOROS NOTE: Of course, he does not come right out and say he believes this, but from his tone and other statements, you could make a pretty strong case for it, and if so, he is teaching falsehood!

"Baker finds that both the Bible and Islam condemn the worship of any other God as idolatry and that “A Muslim can no more be a ‘card-carrying communist’ than a Christian can belong to and support the creed of world atheism.” " SOROS NOTE: So what! You cannot believe that the Bible is the inspired WORD of GOD and say it is okay or common for Muslim's to worship another GOD just because they believe it. If this does not say, "Anything's okay as long as you are sincere", then I am missing something. If you throw out Jesus words of being the only way, you have nothing to base your faith on, and yes, then the Christian and the Muslim are quite the same indeed!

"These chapters are perhaps the most important in Baker's compilation of common ground between Muslims and Christians. They are presented very succinctly and are not accusatory or denunciatory toward any religious community." SOROS NOTE: Certainly they are not offensive to anyone or any religion, because he has demoted Jesus and the Bible to commonality with all others. This politically correct "religion" sickens me, and it is PRECISELY this line of thought which will have the antichrist kill Christians WITH the support of all other religions and people because TRUE Christianity DOES DIVIDE people. I paraphrase -- "If you don't acknowledge ME before men, I will not acknowledge you before MY FATHER in Heaven." Writers like this guy can smooth talk, and sidestep, and omit some things, etc., but there are some things which we better not compromise for "getting along". Believe me, the antichrist's plan for the world will make PERFECT SENSE to EVERYONE -- but we know where it leads.

"Baker directly asks what is wrong with peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims." SOROS NOTE: Nothing, as long as Christians do not have to compromise their faith. If they said "we agree to disagree" and could still have peace, then GREAT! But read between the lines. This is the first step to watering down Christianity or eliminating those who will not.

I remain,

SOROS
