pcstel,
RE QCHAT
You wrote:

******This is a killer application for the AOL Instant Messenger crazed Youth Market!! I mentioned this to LWIN IR Dept some time ago.. AOL IM is so popular because it is void of Per Minute/Message charges!! A phone with QCHAT and a Buddy List that shows "Who got their phone on" is the perfect device for LWIN's all you can talk format!! Once the kids have it.. The parents won't be too far behind.******

Me: I agree, plus I think the SNAPTRACK location combined with QCHAT which will allow your buddy list to not only know when someone is online but could let you know WHERE your friend is within 50 feet of you. Then you could "Hook up" I think that is the expression used today.... Could give dating and getting together a whole new venue.....

However, I still think the killer application is the capacity increases that 1X gives opperators the ability to do these services without hurting their voice business.

You mention AOL and I have thought recently that AOL might want to do a partnership with Sprint or Verizon to futher their lead in the IM business. I think they inked a deal with AWE??? To bad their data offering is going to be a big headache... So I guess MSN will have to sign up instead...
Thank you for your response.
