>>I suppose you know that pretty much ALL of Osama's income all his life has come from the USA either via direct commercial activity via his Dad's construction business, or from funding by the CIA [from your taxes which you voted on] during the 1980s and latterly from supporters who get income from oil].<<

Wrong. The bin Laden Construction Company makes money all over the world, but primarily in Saudi Arabia.

pbs.org

Osamah bin Laden was a young man of little importance when the US assisted the mujahedeens in Afghanistan in their war against the Soviet Union. He was born in 1957, so was only 22 when the war started in 1979. He was willing to spend his own money and that made him important to the men he funded.

pbs.org

The US was funding the resistance in Afghanistan, not bin Laden. The people we were funding were not like bin Laden, they were more moderate, and they had to flee the Taliban or were killed by the Taliban. A number of them are refugees here in Northern Virginia. I've mentioned before that a former client of mine was at one time the Mayor of Kabul.

The United States is not the source of their misery. We give far more humanitarian aid to Afghanistan than any other country. The Taliban is the source of their misery.

As for Palestine - what is the connection other than the fact that they are both Islamic?

Oil has nothing to do with Afghanistan. There is no oil in Afghanistan.

Oil has nothing to do with Israel-Palestine. There is no oil in Israel, nor in Palestine.

>>The money to fund the attacks is coming from the SUV owners who pay the oil owners who pay the construction companies which are owned by people who pay the attackers. It's all very Karmic.<<

The innocent 7000 did nothing to deserve the death bin Laden and his henchmen visited on them.

To suggest that they did is, in my opinion, evil.

Maurice -

...but who gives out the official "Seal of Truth"?

You can order it from a website in Anchorage, Alaska, but you're responsible for arranging shipping and supplying the fish.

Regards, Don

<It's all very Karmic.>

Agreed.... it's not like we're not running around over there making all sorts of deals in back rooms. This has been going on for decades ["Death to Carter, Death to U.S.A."- when I was in school many of the Iranian students on our campus routinely protested against the Shaw and Savak to anyone who would listen. These were highly educated portion of the population- and they hated him... OUR guy, and a bad one.], one should observe what folks think of you and pay attention IMO. We never gave a rat's @$$.

Nearly all the support to all these clowns was done so based on 'one dimensional' thinking.... "he's anti-soviet, forget the rest." There has been little thinking going into these relationships. In Buddism, Islam, Christianity or Spirtuality of all kinds it is the INTENTION of a relationship or (inter)action that judges it... I don't think anyone would deny that almost every decision made with all these despots we got into bed with was made with little regard to good intentions to the party it was made with [and certainly not their populations!] All we cared about was US. If I made all my personal decisions with my associates and friends this way I'd have none.

Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT justifying anything that happened, I'm just stating the obvious... our FP has been a disaster all along, from the Shaw, Pinochet, Saddam.... what a joke.

Fine post.
It's good to see people who consider that it just might help to know *why* an attack took place, as well as who was behind it... so helpful to genuinely stop them in future.

Sadly, wasted on those who'd rather lash out in blind if devastating vengeance. And/or who basically don't give a f*** about others anyway...
