You're right, there's more to capitalism than wealth and power and the recognition of excellence.

But there's more to communism than the irrationally forced redistribution of that wealth and power and the apparent refusal to acknowledge excellence.

It's complicated. It's much more interesting than simply labeling one theory of political economy as entirely evil and some other as entirely good.

It all starts with radical ideas, as was the genesis of the United States and, in particular, it's Constitution and then comes the fine tuning, fueled by new ideas and the need to deal with apparent inadequacies.

But one more specific point: it's just not true that with capitalism a rising tide floats all boats. The rich get richer and the poor tend to make little or no progress without certain obligations being forced upon the wealthy by the majority of the citizenry. That's the beauty of this country. My vote, hopefully, is just as powerful as anyone's.
