Kapkan, isn't it obvious that Intel would promote the idea of each company developing their own methods for manufacturing? After all, Intel is a world leader in terms of process technology. It is in their best interest that they be allowed to innovate in their own way, without being restricted by standards. But then again, I don't know what standards Barrett is talking about. The article doesn't really give any depth on what exactly the industry is aiming for in standardizing semiconductor manufacturing.
