Introduction
Avici has introduced the latest addition to its scalable family of Core Routers - the Stackable Switch Router (SSR). With the SSR, Avici has the capability, for the first time, to broaden its market to include smaller service providers such as metro broadband service providers, emerging carriers and ISPs, in addition to meeting its existing customers' regional needs.
While retaining the advantages of scalability, reliability and cost effectiveness first introduced with the TSR platform, Avici is now able to offer, with the SSR, a portable solution that is claimed by the router specialist to be the lowest cost OC-192c scalable router in a stackable form factor.
