M1, regardless of whether MRVC did anything "wrong" or not, there is a certain bad taste left in the mouth when a company, along with its brokers, underwriters, etc. sells the public a small part of a big part of their operations for 12 bucks; says they will distribute to shareholders the rest (big part) that they continue to hold....free....then changes their mind and decides to offer the current public holders stock that the market values at around $1.35 for their shares.

In spite of all the rationale about the bubble, collapsing market for optical stocks, collapsing stock prices, what else could they have done, etc. I still say the bad taste will stick around a while.

m1,

Nowadays there's bound to be someone who will file a frivolous lawsuit and with our feel good justice system, some liberal judge, you know, of the dipjay or calladine persuasion, might find for the plaintiffs. I will guarantee I won't be the one to file. Realistically though, to lead your shareholders on with an entire business plan built on spinning off subordinate divisions to increase shareholder value, and then to basically ftuta, and do the complete opposite, and cover it with a depends on market conditions clause is pretty damn shady in my eyes. You may see it different, that's your choice. knc
