There is the single shot two hand 20 MM pistol. It has a muzzle brake and the slide and barrel recoils 12 inches. Proximity fuse burst or AP. Stopping power plus.

The M1 110 grain 30 cal. had 957 pounds ME. A 22 hornet has 723 pounds ME. A 44 mag has 1036 lbs ME but only 551 FP at 100 yds to the hornet's 417 fout pounds energy at the 100. For this reason I think the hornet would make a good super/machine pistol round in AP mode. The standard 9MM grease gun weighs in a 384 fp ME and 287 at 100, comparatively anemic. The 45 is at best 543 - 388. The smaller caliber penetrates better in AP.

Anthrax is not contagious so a carrier has to be vaccinated and use a spreader. To be frank I think Anthrax is un-American and to be that is just wrong to begin with. If they are going to use Anthrax then we have to use neutron bombs. I don't see a choice. I am sure we could get veterans to volunteer to carry them into cities and self detonate. We could even hire canine corps carrying doggie nukes. I am sure Rin Tin Tin would see it our way of he had to mate with an Afghan otherwise.

<<Colt .45>>

I treasure my dad's WWII .45 but find it difficult to fire rapidly with any accuracy. The 9mm/.38 has less recoil and more accuracy for the "average" shooter/home defender. Therefore would think it is a "safer" choice for most non-marine users<grin>.

When teaching my now ex-wife to use a 6" S&W .38 I told her if she needed to defend her self in the home to pull the trigger until the gun goes "click". As I was worried the guy might get up and take the gun away from her. Guess that makes your point. However, if you can't hit the target with the .45 what good is the damn thing?

I prefer a flame thrower myself....much more impact on the enemy.............

In regards to naval support fire...let's not get personal now!<grin>
