With respect to "second sons and the sons of second wives" I was speaking metaphorically, not literally. I have made a study of revolutions, as have many, and I believe that the historical record is fairly clear on this - it is not the dispossessed who start revolutions. It is those who are just outside the rank of those who have achieved power. In bin Laden's case, apparently his mother was one of his father's concubines, and he was raised by his father's fourth wife. BTW, if you paid attention to bin Laden's recent speech, he brought up Andalusia - la Reconquista. These guys don't ever forget.
