Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you said Okies I don't believe that is politically correct, unless you are one, of course. They don't actually like being called that by other people. We had some people from the Central Valley who lived next door to us for awhile. The first time I met them the wife had a black eye. One of their daughters was a paroled drug dealer whom they had a restraining order against, and the police were often at their house. On Sundays we would hear VERY loud religious broadcasting coming from their home- along with the frequent swear word. It was an odd and interesting experience. I've no idea if they were typical. When the man finally moved out, on Halloween, he did so by screaming for two hours as he loaded his pickup truck by throwing stuff out the upstairs front window. We wondered why we weren't getting any trick or treaters- and when I went out front and heard him screaming I figured out why (he was basically accusing his wife, at the top of his voice, of creative types of infidelity). They were renters and they are gone now. A nice quiet couple own the place next to us now. I've no idea where they are from.
