this is why i hesitate to even debate the issue with you. you obviously do not understand the definition of sovereignty and how it is being applied. FOR THE LAST TIME, a diminishment of sovereignty DOES NOT have to be forcibly imposed. you can CHOOSE to surrender it if you like. that does not mean you can necessarily CHOOSE to take it back. if you retain the right to return sovereignty, than by definition you never surrendered it in the first place! if you can't understand this fundamental point, then there is no reason for us to discuss the subject further.

once we can agree that it makes no difference whether sovereignty was surrendered or taken by force; that the only thing that matters is that it's gone; i will be happy to respond to the rest of your post.
