Raptor: Which scenario do you see playing out over the remainder of October?

Scenario #1: Continued volatility, much of it day-to-day driven by external (news) events, with continued upward bias. All indices are higher by the end of the month.

Scenario #2: Retest of September 15 lows later this month (downward move of 5 to 15%) due to a combination of: external (news) events, another terrorist act, and/or poor earnings reports and forward guidance for Q4 and Q1 2002. If we do have a "retest", what level do you see the indices declining to?

Inquiring minds want to know.
