I'm sure Intel will come up with something to replace P4. But, for now, P4 is looking awfully pathetic compared to the new Athlon XPs.

And the mystery of P4 showing good results on Sysmark 2001 has been solved. Now we know that Bapco/Intel searched until they found a program that didn't recognize Athlons properly and as a result produced very poor scores.

Intel's bag of tricks seems to be about used up...
