I recently read Walter Isaacson's very detailed biography on Kissenger, I learned a lot about some of the
complicated nuances of our 1970's Mid East dealings. And the region is built on very complicated relationships.

I'm probably going to read Isaacson's book. "The wise Men" about :

A captivating blend of personal biography and public drama, The Wise Men introduces the original best and brightest: Averell Harriman, Secretary of State Dean Acheson, George Kenan, Secretary of Defense Robert Lovett, John McCloy, and Ambassador to the Soviet Union Charles Bohlen.

This is about six people that were some of the biggest policy makers in U.S. foreign policy from the 1930's through the 1970's.

Isaacson was an editor at Time and is now running CNN.
