Absolutely, and that's not happening. That's the key problem w. gov't at all levels, and especially those agencies that operate secretly. If anything brings down democracy it won't be terrorism, it will be gov't secrecy. Incompetence and criminality breed in the dark, throwing billions in dangerous directions without consent of the governed.

We now have an enemy that knows more about us than we do about them, and they are among us. This isn't a matter for secrecy, but all-out disclosure.

That said, we're making progress, since it's almost impossible to squash the internet (altho' there are some pretty interesting attempts being made...)
