#reply-15967878 is about substituting a new sound for mail notification, while #reply-15967964 provides a suggestion, although I prefer #5.
#reply-15969003 gives URLs of the .WAV file(s) you need to download.

I am also using RC2 and configured my personal choice .wav file in sounds for new mail notification.

Did you do a "Save as" in the Sound Scheme in same tab as Program Events?

You'll need to do that in order for your settings to take.
