Numerical Technologies Exceeds Financial Targets for Third Quarter 2001
Company Reports Record Revenues and Strong Earnings Growth
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Numerical Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMTC - news) today announced record revenues and profitability for the third quarter of 2001. Third quarter revenues were a record $12.8 million, an increase of 93 percent compared with the third quarter of last year. Excluding non-cash charges associated with acquisition-related costs, deferred stock compensation charges and depreciation charges, pro forma net income for the quarter was $2.0 million, or $0.06 per share, compared with a pro forma loss of $215,000 for the same period last year. Third quarter earnings exceeded estimates by 50 percent, or $0.02 per share.

This marks the company's fourth consecutive profitable quarter on a pro forma basis and its eighth consecutive quarter of increasing revenues. The company was also cash positive for the sixth consecutive quarter, and delivered a pre-tax profit of 26 percent.
