shoreco, I'm not shrugging off the news

If we gap up tomorrow, I think I'll short then. I don't think today's euphoria can last very long.

JNPR will be one I'll short. I think their earnings might fade CSCO, CIEN, EXTR, JDSU, etc. What do you think?

Shoreco.. Its called "fear control" IMVHO.

Consumer's confidence was already in dire before the Sept. 11th tragedy. The incident itself catapulted the word R as a sure thing in our fragile economy (as if it hadn't occurred already). The latest strings of airlines "peculiarities" worldwide CANNOT be presented as possible terrorists attacks by the media, for fear of creating more economic woes in our already dismal financial state. If this is so, I'm not sure I disagree with the intent. Since most falls of past empires tend to coincide with economic collapses. Having said that, I'm not keen on being kept in the dark either.

Fear control certainly serves more than one purpose. Economic reason is only one. But ofcourse, this is just MHO.
