Congress is so petrified of the ecoterrorist lobby that it exempted a MAJOR untapped source of oil from it's energy legislation today. That yahoo who shot a hole in the pipeline used a VERY big rifle and hit it five times before it was penetrated. As bad as it sound, I don't think armoring the pipeline makes much sense. You should see the steel that it's made out of. It's very substantial, and most firearms will not penetrate it. Of course, due to the size of our game animals, many people have very powerful rifles. Only a few, however, are so stupid as to shoot at the pipeline. Being cylindrical, you would have to make a dead-on hit from close range in order to penetrate. Not too smart.
