"you really don`t know where the money the gov. doles out comes from do you...."

Of course I do. It comes from the taxpayers... Duh!

Besides, you ignore my point that a level economic playing field results in stronger economic growth for all... and a higher level of natural productivity (the truest measure of economic strength).

To over simplify my points:

1) Slash / Eliminate special tax preferences, special loopholes, special considerations, which disproportionately benefit the rich and well-connected... or do you think that Japan has had such a great result from it's several decades of 'industrial policy'? The US is marching down that same road.

2) Then slash ALL tax rates to balance out the revenue impact of eliminating all those corporate pork loopholes.... (Including slash corporate tax rates....)

3) Then lower rates again, to return to ALL taxpayers the amount that has now been saved by by eliminating the HUNDREDS of billions of annual compliance & paperwork costs from the old - football field long - byzantine tax code.

4) The extra productivity of the economy - by allowing capitalism to work it's best magic, unfettered by the dead hand of government industrial policy - well, that's the gravy on the meal... and it's for the benefit of ALL Americans.

Speaking of 'fair haired boys', perhaps you should study up a little on some of the ideas of ex-presidential candidate Forbes (there's a good Republican 'fair haired boy' for you), or study the Chicago School of Economics.
