Getting set up again for a crossover of the stochastics on this chart:

siliconinvestor.com

We can get a very nice move up and yet stay in a bear market in terms of not exceeding previous highs on NAS especially and maybe NYSE index.

But the bearish I see around is getting worse as we rebound. I have a friend here who is getting ready to invest in stocks for the first time though. He decided the housing market is nuts and like me wasn't so keen on the idea of property ownership anyway.

Today was my first day as a "visiting fellow" here. i.e. an independent scholar who gets to use all the facilities etc. I did previously but doesn't get paid - they get money from the government for each paper I publish which should more than cover the cost. I feel much better :) Hated being an employee. Just need to be able to make enough money at this game. I took several books on options trading out of the University Library tonight looks like some have some good ideas in them. News Corp is up strongly on the AGM today and so my puts I sold are now out of the money which is great. Unfortunately I will need to be an employee again in the future in order to get a US green card :) (and afford to live the US - I can get by here where things are dirt cheap). Lots of job applications to write.
