On the way up past the atmosphere into the bubblesphere, many people gleefully pointed out that history didn't apply. Maybe the same is true on the way down. At some point there will be a complete new cycle to add to the knowledge pool for Brinker and someday the bull will snort and kick up again for a rally and someday for a new secular bull market. It is a mistake to give up on the concept of a good multi-dimensional timing model. Many of us have been cut pretty bad trying to catch this falling knife and capture a slice of rally. We are "down" the river without a paddle for our current long positions including the Q's and we missed a great hedging opportunity.
