Would that have been more or less silly than Hitler's attack on Russia? Some say that this was his worst mistake.

Would it have been more or less silly than the Soviet Union's disagreement with Red China? This left the two countries to have to face the might of the west alone.

Would it have been more or less silly than when Paraguay, with no other allies, simultaneously attacked Argentina and Brazil, (and the puppet state of Uruguay), and then fought off the "triple alliance" for 5 years until (supposedly) 90% of the adult male population of Paraguay was dead:

By the way, it's somewhat surprising that the War of the Triple Alliance can be blamed on Britain, even though it was only South American countries involved. This supports my thesis that citizens of the 3rd world will go to absolutely any lenght possible to blame their misfortunes on the 1st world:
