After an extended period of business contraction where C&I loans have fallen persistently even with falling interest rates, what else could one expect? It's surprising that that the degree is so muted.

Have you ever considered using such pseudo after the fact information in a way that is positive?

If a bank is under any duress as far as loan service is concerned, isn't it in their interest to seek more loan business by getting competitive through the cheap availability of funds? If so, wouldn't that enable such a bank to repair any weakness and indeed, go on to higher profit?

Isn't it the purpose of the stock market to account for profit weakness by bidding down stock price? JPM has been falling for reasons not connected to assessment of syndicated loan arrearage whose effect represents something like 2% of income. Why blow up this except to form an attitude that always makes one into a loser?

The only answer is that you feel you need to hurt yourself.
