anthrax info

I have emailed this information to my children and several relatives and friends.

I hope it will ease the fears they may have developed from hearing the uninformed news-hype being pushed on the anthrax issue.

I cringe as I watch the network reporters trying to deal with this story -- the experts on the news programs do not so much lie as shade the truth. I suppose if they said, "Hey no problem," they wouldn't be back tomorrow. <g>

OT - Anthrax and not FA -

I too thought the information that Karen posted was very well done; and far earlier to reach the scene than what we are starting to hear in the press (don't be alarmist).

One thought comes to mind - if indeed the American Media event is a purposeful attack by terrorists (and not some copy cat "terrorist" with criminal intent aimed only at the National Enquirer), there still could be cause for great concern.

If we give the terrorists credit for research, planning and patience, traits which they appear to have - then we need to consider that the delivery form and nature of attack might well suit anthrax as a weapon.

Lets say for example that the goal is to further disrupt commerce. Letters and parcels mailed en masse to destinations everywhere could easily accomplish this. Once the mode of delivery is detected and public alarm raised, suddenly every mail room in the country shuts down.

Ted Kazinsky (UNABOMBER) but worse.
