It was right... because the nation was at war and could not afford the traditional luxuries of freedom of speech. There's something to be said for not farting in a crowd, or telliing jokes and laughing at a funeral.. And there's something to be said for keeping one's dissenting minority opinions to oneself, when the majority have sent their sons and daughters off to risk their lives on you behalf. Discretion Ratan... not censorship.. People should self-censor, and not get in the way of the nation's righteous vengeance. You might get yourself hurt that way....
