We at Obie Media regret that this chat room has been used to post a number of flatly erroneous messages and half truths that at times border on defamation of our company and its people. We are constrained by federal securities laws and our operational needs from responding to these misstatements in this forum. If you do have questions about Obie, or would like to hear our response to any specific matters raised in these messages, please submit them to us at <trobbins@obie.com> prior to our October 15, 2001 conference call and we will happily answer them in that public setting.

Probably not a good sign to see a company waste it's time during a business day to post a message on a silly yahoo message board. You'd think senior management has better things to do. I don't think this message board has anything to do with the current stock price.

More About Obie Media
by: justthefactsplease2001 09/28/01 12:11 am
Msg: 189 of 208

Although there have been rather defamatory remarks and comments in this forum, it is indeed fact that:
A) Obie has most definitely lost the Cleveland account due to its inability/unwillingness to meet the guaranteed minimum; and
B) Mr Wayne Schur has indeed left the employ of Obie Media, though it may be up to discussion as to whether he jumped the sinking ship or was pushed; and
C) Obie faces litigation in Richmond as a result of their performance there.

All three of these are facts that can be (and have been) confirmed by the public record or by people answering the phone at Obie offices.

Perhaps Mr. Robbins ought to worry less about what he wished to represent as "...flatly erroneous messages and half truths that at times border on defamation..." and worry more about the drastic downturn this company is taking. I'm quite sure that those of us who bought in at the higher end would appreciate a more focused effort.

Chicago
by: marello1 10/04/01 01:17 pm
Msg: 194 of 208

Obie Media was recently tossed out of Cleveland for not paying the minimum guarantee to the transit authority there and is being sued by the transit authority in Richmond for stiffing that agency on its guarantee as well.
I understand that Obie’s minimum annual guarantee for year 2001 with the CTA in Chicago is in excess of $22,000,000.00 and that to date, Obie has paid the CTA only around 6-8 million.
I sincerely hope that on the Oct. 15th conference call - if not before – Obie will explain how in this dismal advertising climate it will be able to come up with the 15 or so million dollars it must pay the CTA within the next few months. Or, is losing Chicago part of some deliberate strategy the rest of us don’t understand.

Dear ObieMedia:
It has become increasingly concerning to see your posts on this message board. As a stock holder who has bought into this company at over $8 a share I wish I would see efforts being done to increase the value of the company rather than efforts to defend negative posts on this message board. I've invested in many stocks and followed them on message boards, and never have I seen direct responses from a company. If everything was going smoothly and everything looked great for Obie Media, I can't believe Obie Media would take time to even look at this board. It is very concerning to see the immature approach Obie Media has taken, certainly not acting like a top notch leader in the industry. You will find nothing erroneous or half truthed in the message. Now please, take steps and show us leadership that will make this company increase in value, please.

Is Brian a target? This must be disclosed. Has he testified?

OK, Mr. PR man. Be ready on October 15th for open mike day!!!

Ok, I have been reading this board for a while, and it started out as honest traders talking about OBIE, until recently this board has gone down the tubes. I have purchased stock when it was high and when it's been low, so now is the time for those of you that seem to have a personal vendetta against Obie to step up to the plate and ask Obie yourself about these so called issues. The Obie conference call has been announced in a press release for Monday, October 15, 2001 at 4:30 p.m. ET. It’s time to put up or shut up and give us some honest opinions or facts. I for one will be listening in. For us real investors, if you look at all the media companies, everyone is in a slump right now due to the down turn in the economy, AK media being bought out and TDI/Viacom realigning itself again. Advertising is always the first to be hit during these times, but will rebound. I am in for the long haul.

Xfiles is right -- the conference call is our chance to get answers from Obie. Obie can post a vague, albeit weak, disclaimer here every two days. The conference call is when the stockholders can hold Obie accountable!!

However, since they won't be taking live questions, those of us (and there are quite a few) who have posted valid concerns here MUST e-mail these concerns and questions to our board-buddy Mr. Tobin Robbins. (Even you Viacom visitors should e-mail your questions to Obie!) If we don't e-mail these concerns to Obie, they certainly won't address them in the conference call. Let them know you own stock and would like some accountability.

The very valid concerns:
- Loss of Wayne Schur
- loss of Cleveland
- lawsuit in Richmond
- serious problems in Houston, Kansas City, Chicago and St. Louis

Don't be fooled -- this conference call is not an open mike for disappointed investers! It is a conference call between top Obie executives who will release earnings (or non-earnings) information and discuss implications for the future (or non-future) of the company.

To get our concerns addressed, we MUST email them to trobbins@obie.com before October 15. As Tobin has said about 9 times in the last few weeks, "If you do have questions about Obie, or would like to hear our response to any specific matters raised in these messages, please submit them to us at <trobbins@obie.com> prior to our October 15, 2001 conference call and we will happily answer them in that public setting."

Certainly he must intend to follow through and "happily answer" our questions as he promised in this public forum (posting misleading comments might be a violation of those federal securities laws to which he so frequently refers).

I think many of you have raised very valid concerns and I hope you e-mail them to Obie!

Conference Call Questions sent 9/21/01
by: cvosmik 10/10/01 01:34 pm
Msg: 205 of 208

Thanks for offering to take shareholder questions before the conference call.

Will you give us the information needed to value the two business segments: billboards and transit? Could you perhaps offer a separate P&L for the billboard segment or at least revenues and EBITDA?

Will you address the marketability of each segment in a liquidation scenario i.e. which companies (Clear, Viacom, Lamar, Prime, et al) might have an interest in acquiring the billboard plant. If you assume that the plant should sell for 10-14X EBITDA or 6x revenues what is the chance of this happening?

Please disclose the logic behind switching accountants.

Please disclose any personnel changes down to the VP level.

Please disclose the loss of any transit contracts.

Please quantify the guarantees that you have had to make on your top ten transit contracts.

I am taking it for granted that you will fully disclose why you felt you were justified to postpone the conference call. Blaming it on the recent bombing is extremely unprofessional.
