Your explanation sounds quite plausible. Do you know the broker or institution on the buy side of the trade? Does the buyer plan to hold the shares for investment purposes or do they intend to distribute them into the market like was done by the Canaccord folks?

Also, isn't completion of such a transaction (i.e. the private placement component) considered a material change by the Ontario Securities Commission? And, if that is so, isn't the company obligated to put out a press release containing the details of such a transaction? Such a public announcement was the case when TD and Quebecor exchanged a chunk of cash for a big stake in Abitibi.

Thanx for your speedy response. Regretfully, SI has become a quicker source of explanation than the information flow coming my way out of Markham.
