Thanks Mark. I was thinking after the huge run-ups of some of the security stocks..VISG LB AATK CPHD there may be a short covering bounce ala a couple of years ago of the internet 1 day wonders. If I remember correctly you indentified a 4-6 day shorting onslaugt of 60-66% then a nice 20-25% bounce. I might try that next week.

Or I may join you in DROOY. I like that it bounced off its 200 dma. Plus the turn around of the ADX.

As for Schwab...he's looking at a huge drop in trading down the road & may not want to continue the layoffs. Also I think the initial "Be a good American & invest in the market" sentimentality may already be wearing off.

I have to admit I don't like your DOW trading range call. Not that I don't think you are correct, I just don't want to see a sideways market for 2 years.

John

Hey there Mark,

I think that's Peter Lynch in the commercial - but what would he know anyway? LOL - That fodder isn't for gizzard traders. OT Blast from the past: anyone note that AZTC goes out of business tomorrow, trading at about $.01?

I still haven't entered any new gold trades yet. Looking for a touch lower and some confirmation. Didn't see it today - although I did get a cold call from a brokerage pushing gold stocks which gives me pause to wonder if they are about to dump (that's been the record for most cold calls I've ever gotten).

But while you lug that golden ball and chain around, I've been dancing with the likes of - JNPR, BRCD, QLGC, VTSS, NVLS, MU, KLAC, as well as JDSU, FFIV, HLIT, IMNX, and (new today) DIGL, TQNT and XICO. Rebuilding that mutual fund - a lot of these are 5+ day swings coming off last week's bottoms. Booked some excellent profits in the afterhours on part of the JNPR, NVLS, BRCD, QLGC, and VTSS. If this is what the markets are going to be doing for a while, I'm all for it!! (Tho I will short, I really don't do as well - generally take smaller positions and stay in the trade for shorter time.)

I'll keep an eye on VISG as well, perhaps to play, but more likely just to see if the popper strategy still survives. It would be nice to see it return as it was once a good paycheck. But things do change (or is that just saying "this time it's different"??).
