point well taken but I hope you see my point that if Intel would it might have backfired big time.

I per say never liked "quantispeed" and said it before a number of times. AMD chose to use new "pr" scheme to market their chips as performance speed and it is a lagit strategy (either I like it or not). Together with msft's support it might prove me wrong and be very beneficial for amd.

As far as Intel's use of "pr" rating then it is totally up to intel's marketing team. Again, I may end up not liking it as an investor but that does not mean that it is not a legit marketing strategy.
