I stand amazed at all those white lawmakers and judges and CEO's that have managed to succeed even though they are white (pulling themselves up by the straps on their Bruno Magli's, no doubt)! Bill Gates, for example! Amazing how such a poor put upon scion of the upper middle class white establishment managed to make a fortune. It's truly mind boggling how we've never managed to have a president or vice president that was any color other than milky white, isn't it- given the horrendous advantages all those "other" people have ? And let's not forget that they've all been men. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it isn't exactly representative of our country. Since the country is 50% female to achieve parity we really ought to have 200 years of minority female presidents. Which would be a lovely change, as far as I'm concerned.

LISTEN UP COSMICFORCE!!!!

In direct response to your statement about my denying racism, I posted the following two hours ago.

Following that post are three msgs addressing "enough's enough" for any who care to divine the meaning of that.

No, actually I'm not. It will always be with us to a degree. We have an obligation to ban institutional racism and place limits on some forms of personal racism.
Have you ever wondered how many blacks may have not been hired by small businesses out of fear of dealing with future problems on the basis or racism vs. what's best for the business

Some have had quite enough "difference" and object to demands of other cultures that theirs be changed (or just put in the closet).

Saying, "enough's enough" is hardly anal retentive.

I have no idea what you mean by "enough is enough".
In a free country, I don't see how you can do that and still be free.
You can be sort of free. And the more enough you say, the less free you are.
Tolerance isn't for the other guy, you do it for yourself (imo). Obviously people disagree. And in a free country you should have the right to be as intolerant as you want- as long as you don't cause physical harm to others. I have always stood up for the rights of the intolerant- and I don't do it for the intolerant, again, I do it for myself.

If you have no idea what I mean by "enough is enough" you are willfully ignorant.
I've lived abroad half my adult life. I travel extensively. I am anything but xenophobic.

There is a prevailing cultural tradition in the United States. It is European and Christian. All others are welcome but if they want to tell me not to say "God Bless America" or want to ditch Christmas carols, they can bite me.
