That is plain wrong. Studies have found the macro-economic effect of regions building stadia is net negative. I could look one up if you are interested. We’ve been fighting this battle here for years. That “it’s a good investment” canard has been so toughly debunked the opposition doesn’t even bother bringing it up anymore. but my understanding is that the stadia generate so much tax revenue in the long run that they are good investments for the cities.
