Hi epsteinbd; One death is a tragedy. 5000 deaths is a statistic.

And you know what's funny (or not so funny, depending on how you look at it), we're to blame...

We are the ones, Americans in general, who will sit around and watch the OJ trial day after day, rather than watching soaps, Oprah, or Jerry Springer.

We're the ones who will beat the Chandra Levy/Gary Condit case to exhaustion...

And we're the ones who will sit here watching ever "latest event" about the current military action.

Personally, I'm trying to do more reading about it, than I am watching the tube. I'm very content to sit back here on my evenings and read what you all find interesting in the news, while watching history channel or Sci-Fi, running a few different charts in between trying to find the next decent stock play..

I don't want to get caught up in the hype... This is a bloody and ugly task we're undertaking and I don't really want to support those media types who are trying to boost their ratings at the expense of our folks who are serving, and dying, in the line of duty... Regardless if that death is from combat, or an accident.
