SteveC, I agree with you to some degree, but there must be a balance. I don't think AMD is at the best point of balance; otherwise, they would not have a $200 million loss this quarter, which is outside of acceptable sacrifice to stay competitive in the business, IMO. On the other hand, AMD could give out all their processors for free, and gain maybe a couple percentage more share, but what would the cost be then? wanna_bmw

Otherwise, Intel would succeed in convincing the partners that AMD relies upon from developing new products for AMD chips. Sometimes you just have to take the punches that are thrown at you knowing that if you hang on your opponent will start to tire and in the long run you'll be in a stronger position." Weel said...Not really all that complicated...The strident chirping by the AMD adversaries in our midst probably reflects their heightened concern now that it is apparent that INTC cannot beat AMD as in past cycles...INTC's pool of financial resources has shrunk considerably over the past year in their all out marketing assault on AMD to the point now where INTC is staring at red for the first time in the past decade if not in their history...Where are those blue men with their orange pipes anyway???
