Considering your statement- how about I claim the Americans have tacitly helped the IRA, and are playing dumb?

You seem to be willing to condemn certain classes of individuals, based on beliefs they are in bed with the enemy. Is it the Saudi housewife, the Saudi government, the Saudi Royalty or certain religous subsects believed at fault here?

Take the devil's advocate point of view, I could say the prince was willing to say the emperor wore no clothes, and may now pay a price for that.

I fault him for the timing and phrasing of the message, a general lack of tact. Not for being willing to stand up and say it.
