Thomas: As I have often suggested, I am a "learner", nada mas, and I certainly learn here.

Yes again, your points are well taken.

On baskets, guess I started with baskets with networking: Cisco, Wellfleet, ... long before there was a GG book.

In the event, I gradually concentrated on Cisco. (But in the meantime I watched and learned and profited from the entire basket - not just Cisco)

When I had finished giving Cisco away to family and charity (my final holding in networking), my base cost was 2 cents.

Also I learned from the Cisco roller coaster. And what I learned was that selling "high" was a mistake - in that specific case at those specific times.

The next "high" was higher.

That was a good experience and it colors my view.

All this is why I have a somewhat different view perhaps than others here.

My experience leads me to prefer long term buy and hold.

That is what I have done and will continue to do re: Qualcomm. That my cost is roughly $5 perhaps makes that more practical for me than others.

In thinking about it, I carry that experience with me and as I have said many times here, this is what I have learned for me in my specific situation.

Suggest others do what makes the most sense to them in their own specific situation.

Best.

PS And yes, I have found no means of using a "basket" in wireless, since the only gorilla or even gorilla candidate I have found is Qualcomm.

And I have found no gorilla nor gorilla candidate in fiberoptics. Thought JDSU was a King, and fortunately I bought early enough to still have a profit, but that profit has shrunk, to put it mildly. <G>
